Line in the Sand
(Independent Developer - Narrative/Level Design Focus)

Concept: A comedic Western with bullet hell gameplay. Choose who to sacrifice and who to save in a town that is on the brink of destruction.

  • Designed bullet patterns for 5 boss encounters to provide a variety of difficulty and playstyle to each fight.
  • Wrote non-linear dialogue for 7 characters in order to supply player motivation and create a lived-in world.
  • Populated the level with assets to cultivate an authentic Western atmosphere.
  • Iterated the free/kill decision system to the extent of accommodating both narrativist and gamist players.
